Welcome to the MLB Macro Minute! This is a short article focused on macro environments and trending teams. The goal here is to identify easy spots to focus or remove from slates and make DFS a bit easier.

Macro Pitcher Stats
- Ignore Suter as he is projected to be the opener. However, he is opening for Manoah who has worst True AVG on the slate. Additionally, the LAA bullpen is also trash – fire up CLE bats.
- Lambert is the only pitcher with a noteworthy True AVG tonight. There’s a cluster of guys who are “meh”, but Lambert is the only starter with a “good” True AVG tonight.
- Kirby, Cantillo, Soroka [gulp], and Weathers are also in consideration. However, given the lackluster options tonight one of your main points of focus should be to avoid the chalk at SP.
Macro Team Stats
- The Yankees lead the slate in 8+ tonight followed by the Dodgers.
- SEA, CLE, and HOU are the only other teams above 20% 8+
- ARI, SFG, TEX would be the teams to avoid if playing limited entries.
Trending Teams
Not only are the Yankees of the top of the scoring percentages, they are also at the top of the trending tables and have a great matchup. Regardless of their ownership they look to be worth playing in all contest types/sizes. CLE and LAD are also trending well with good matchups. Similar to the scoring percentages ARI, TEX, and SFG aren’t trending well and none have a great trending matchup either.

Portfolio Analysis Exposures
When you run 1,000 lineups into the portfolio manager and do some filtering, you end up with the above results. Some notes:
- Eovaldi/Weathers is the clear top pairing at SP on DK.
- NYY is the priority stack as expected
- SEA shows up in exposures but likely makes a better mini-stack option; which makes sense considering the opposing pitcher’s True AVG. However, after Lambert the HOU bullpen is awful.
- Ramirez and Neto look like strong high-end one-offs at 3B and SS respectively.
