Welcome to the NBA Macro Minute! This is a short article focused on macro environments and trending players. The goal here is to identify easy spots to focus or remove from slates and make DFS a bit easier.

Macro NBA Defensive Stats
- UTA once again leads the slate in terms of fantasy points per minute allowed at 1.11. They will likely remain a top spot to attack this season.
- CHA is the lowest at .94. however, people consistently try to attack them. If opposing players are high owned don’t be afraid to be underweight.
- DAL leads the slate at .39 FGA per minute with CHI and UTA right behind them at .38
Macro NBA Combo Stats
- GSW/DAL, MIN/CHI, and UTA/SAS stand out as the top game environments and this is also reflected in the game totals as well.
- Early ownership is high on CHA players, if that holds it’s a good spot to be underweight and find some pivots.
- WAS/DEN, particularly the Wizards side is very intriguing for larger field GPPs
Trending Players
Dallas and Utah guys stand out in the value and midrange, as well as some of the Warriors we’ve been targeting lately. Make sure to keep an eye on injury news.

Portfolio Analysis Exposures
When you run 1,000 lineups into the portfolio manager and do some filtering, you end up with the above results. Some notes:
- There is some strong edge on Kyshawn George
- Wizards overall are popping
- Your starting point is likely going to include Justin Chanpagnie as a salary saver and Wemby as your spend-up
