Welcome to the NBA Macro Minute! This is a short article focused on macro environments and trending players. The goal here is to identify easy spots to focus or remove from slates and make DFS a bit easier.

Macro NBA Defensive Stats
- CHI leads the slate at 1.10 fantasy points per minute allowed
- OKC is the lowest at .89, drastically lower than any other team
- DEN giving up a surprising amount of shots per minute, might be trending badly
Macro NBA Combo Stats
- The best matchup is CHI/GSW at 1.04 FPPM combined
- The worst is PHI/LAL at .97, though you could argue that UTA/OKC is worse in terms of pace
- CHA/DEN is super interesting if DEN is trending badly
Considering the offensive firepower of DEN, I think that spot is probably the most intriguing to me. UTA/OKC has similar dynamics (strong offense vs slow opponent) but has much worse base metrics. Obviously you’re going to find your value in CHI.GSW but Jokic looks like the payup in one of the better game environments IMO.
Trending Players
- Pat Spencer price is insulting, he’s pretty much a lock
- Zach Edey another guy who has a great projection and has been outperforming this pricetag consistently
- Three GSW players in this list in the best matchup? EZ game
As noted above, you are grabbing your value from the GSW/CHI game. If you don’t go Jokic I think Edey makes for a great upside play at C which allows you the money to grab some correlation pieces in GSW/CHI as well.
