Welcome to the NBA Macro Minute! This is a short article focused on macro environments and trending players. The goal here is to identify easy spots to focus or remove from slates and make DFS a bit easier.

Macro NBA Defensive Stats
- CHI has officially overtaken UTA as the worst defense in the league as far as FPPM allowed. That said, UTA and WAS are essentially just as bad.
- IND, POR, and MEM are also plus matchups for opposing teams. The IND/BKN gam carries some ownership, but the other two game environments are low owned.
- CLE, DET, NYK, and BOS are allowing the fewest FPPM of the teams playing tonight. CLE and BOS both have great matchups tonight vs WAS and CHI respectively.
Macro NBA Combo Stats
- UTA/SAC stand out has the best game environment from a fantasy perspective, but the ownership is mostly on the SAC side.
- Early ownership projections have multiple CHA players looking chalky vs ATL but that game environment is nothing more than middle of the pack tonight.
- MIN/POR is going way overlooked despite being tied for the 2nd best combined FPPM matchup tonight. There are plethora of midrange options, as well as Ant and Avdija on the high end. As always, pay attention to injury/lineup news.
Trending Players
There is no shortage of value options tonight. Additionally, there are some solid ceiling values in the midrange as well. Given both of those things the field is likely going to opt into playing multiple spend up options tonight. The obvious value spots are SAC and IND, but there are some pivot opportunities with OKC and MIA.

Portfolio Analysis Exposures
When you run 1,000 lineups into the portfolio manager and do some filtering, you end up with the above results. Some notes:
- The high usage guys are the clear priority plays if you are playing Hornets – LaMelo, Knueppel, and Brandon Miller.
- There is some frontcourt value to be had with the Nets and Clowney is an elite pivot.
- Your core tonight is going to be something like Quenton Jackson/Day’Ron Sharpe/Devin Carter + Jokic
