Welcome to the NBA DFS Triple Threat here at Paydirt! This is going to be a daily article aimed at giving thoughts on three important aspects of the NBA DFS slate. We will talk through the most popular players on the slate, popular roster construction, and potential pivots and leverage spots. While the focus is on Draftkings, the content is applicable to Fanduel as well. Costs, Projections, and finishing percentiles format will be Draftkings/Fanduel.
Main Points
- The highest-owned players for tonight’s games are projected to be OG Anunoby, Jeremy Sochan, Caleb Martin, Ausar Thompson, and Gary Trent Jr. Notably, AD and LeBron are both questionable for the Lakers tonight. If one or both sit it will open up value and likely alter the chalk ownership on the slate.
- A popular roster construction tonight will likely include 2 value players complemented by 4 mid-range players and 2 stars. Ownership on the high end is concentrating on AD* and Giannis. Based on this, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, and Trae Young all look like strong pivots in this tier.
- Players such as Jimmy Butler, Scottie Barnes, and Terry Rozier are intriguing GPP plays. Additionally, midrange plays such as Brook Lopez, Malik Beasley, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. look like potential pivot opportunities.

NBA DFS Final Thoughts
The popular build tonight is going to be balanced with 4+ player in the midrange and a focus on Heat, Spurs, and Raptors. Thankfully, this makes it easy to get different on the slate. There are a multitude of pivot options available in the midrange. Additionally, playing any superstar other than Giannis/AD will be different tonight as well. Make sure to keep an eye out for Lakers news with Reaves and Russell likely being the priorities if AD and/or LeBron sit.
